This is a very good quality early 20th century inlaid mahogany American federal style ladies tambour door writing desk or Butlers desk, c1930s. Having an upper stepped back section with 2 tambour doors opening to smaller drawers and slots flanking an inlaid door opening to an open bubby. Lower section having a flip lid with felt writing surface over 2 drawers. Desk does show some signs of age and use with some minor dings, small section of veneer missing on top rear (see photo) and missing 2 small knobs. No makers mark found but very reminiscent of Beacon Hill pieces I have had. Measures 36 wide X 17.5 deep X 46 inches high. Desk surface about 30 inches.
