Offered is a heavy textured art glass bowl designed for Blenko Glass by Joel Myers in 1964. The model is 641L, and the color is a deep peacock blue. The surface interior is smooth and glossy, the undersurface is very textured and ribbed, similar to a sand-dollar, with three small ribs between each large one. While it can be used as a fruit bowl, or catchall, or even a cigar ashtray, the color and texture are fabulous and deserve to be displayed where it catches and throws off light. All images taken in natural daylight and very true to color.
This piece was made between 1964-1966 and this color was from the 1964 Blenko catalog. We grew up with this piece in our living room and hope it finds a home with a passion for mid 20th century design.
