A clean Rococo-style gilt bronze figural mantel clock. The clock is a late 19th-century piece, featuring cherubs / satyrs.
The style is characterized by elaborate scrollwork, foliage designs, and mythological figures. These clocks were popular in France during the Napoleon III period and are often referred to as French Empire or Louis XVI style clocks.
The clock's case is made of gilt bronze (ormolu) and includes a variegated green marble base. The face of the clock has Roman numerals.
