The desk is exceptionally well-crafted and features a sleek, futuristic, space age design. It is generous in size, yet elegantly proportioned and a superb example of French modernist design interpretation. Originally part of a suite of design-oriented, yet functional office furniture (see ad photo), this example features palisandar wood with an integrated laminate storage drawer. The drawer is locking and has a beautifully crafted solid wood sliding tray and the desk has large, round adjustable cast aluminum leveling feet.

Alain Richard was a renowned French industrial designer of the mid-20th century known for his masterful ability to combine art with functionality. Richard’s designs in furniture and lighting have consistently pushed the boundaries of form and utility, earning him a reputation as a visionary within the realm of high-end, luxury furniture design.
