Wonderful set of vintage Villeroy and Boch, these plates were made in Portugal. Having a heavier stoneware like feel, they are very versatile and durable. Presented in the French country pattern, a soft green frames, the rim providing a nice pallet for the center pattern of a branch of a cherry tree. At the edge of the rim, an orange and a Rosie, dark pink frame, the cherry branch, adding an extra bit of detail. These are lovely plates to use every day, and to mix with other patterns. We especially like them in the summer for dessert, although they are a salad plate.
8.25 inches in diameter
No chips, no cracks. Three of the plates have a slightly more yellow background in the center pattern, these are handmade and may have just had some variation in the making of them.
