A very regal and important English sterling silver bowl. Hallmarked Elkington silver of London and dated 1901. Large bowl with ribbed sides and crown shaped rim, set upon cushioned base. Elaborate lion's head ring handles adorn each side. Stunning molding and hand chasing.
Measures 6 1/4" tall x 10" wide. Weighs 936 grams.
Hallmarks at side of bowl. Excellent condition, minor surface wear, no dents. In one of the circular crests, it appears there was an inscription at one time, but it was removed or faded. It's so faded, I can't make out what it says. I never would have seen it without closely inspecting.
