The color is … Read more The small well polished agate/chalcedony bottle has a clear dark brown hue though it is quite transparent. The color is pretty even except for a beige color inclusion that is shaped like a leaf. There are also a variety of tonal qualities in lights and darks. The flattened globular form tapers to a slightly raised oval foot. The top is flat and the opening is a little uneven. It is matched with a dark agate stopper. Smaller snuff bottles were intended to fit in a pocket when snuff was still in use. Today this will be displayed on a shelf as an agate bottle with a leaf shape inclusion. When it is shown in a brighter light, the beauty of this small bottle really shines, even though the photographs cannot manage to show. See less
