The firm was founded in St. Louis in 1883 and known for its fine workmanship and high quality wares. The company's name is on the bottle but is too faint photograph. The silvermarks are more easily visible--it is stamped with the Mermod & Jaccard hallmark, style no. 3107 and "1000 FINE," which indicates the overlay is of 100% silver, a purity classification that ranks higher than sterling.

The beautifully crafted bottle is embellished with irises, scrolls and trailing tendrils and has an oval cartouche with the letters RBG (No, not Ruth Bader Ginsburg--the G would have to be in the center--but still... kinda fun.) The condition of the bottle is very nice vintage, with no missing silver. The glass stopper is damaged (see photo) and though it fits the bottle snugly, it is not air tight, making this a beautiful display piece, but not suitable for holding perfume.
