This whimsical lidded pedestal candy dish/jar is crafted in luminous iridescent peacock blue glass, displaying shifting tones of teal, indigo, and lavender when it catches the light. The piece features a graceful urn-form silhouette with vertical paneled sides, a domed lid, and a tall pointed finial. The sculptural form and iridescent finish are characteristic of early American art glass production. Unmarked examples such as this are commonly associated with early pieces from the Fenton Art Glass Company, as many of their wares from the 1910s–1920s were produced without molded signatures and originally carried paper labels. I believe this to be Fenton's first rendition of their #636 model.
Beautiful as a candy dish, vanity jar, or decorative accent, the vibrant glass color and elegant pedestal form make it a striking addition to shelves, bar carts, or tabletop displays.
