But in the … Read more This Spanish edgy pottery bears the label Sargadelos, a name most people outside Spain would not recognize. But in the northwest region of Galicia, where the porcelain has been mass-produced since 1968, those pieces have become "the tasteful gift par excellence."

Sargadelos pieces are hand-painted and factory-made using a traditional porcelain formula, resurrected from a plant run by the Marquis of Sargadelos in 1804. But there is nothing quaint or old-fashioned about them. They do not resemble the traditional Spanish ceramics, with their rococo flourishes, metallic glimmer or earthy yellows and browns.

This fantastic piece depicts St. George (St. Jorge) fighting the dragon. Luscious porcelain that is a talking piece, dramatic decorative, and fun accent for any room. Great for Spain lovers, history buffs, eclectic collectors. Great presence! Stands at nearly 12 inches. See less
