Make a dramatic statement on any feature wall with this nicely-sized Italian gilt tole wall candle sconce; stunning and architecturally pleasing to the eye with its Hollywood Regency flair. This beauty has four arms which curl upward, two on the left and two on the right. Each arm has a candle socket which is accented with a petal bobeche cup. The fifth petal bobeche cup accented candle socket is at the top. Hand-painted with a beautifully aged gilt patina that appears to glow, lovely! A whimsical tole leaf and floral design adorns the ten other arms. On the upper back, there is a welded hanger hook, so it’s ready for immediate placement! This beauty measures 23” x 22½ x 4½” W/H/D; five candle sockets each measuring 1¼” x 1” H/D (accommodating a standard taper); weight 5 lbs.; handcrafted in Italy (in all likelihood Florence which is well known for its quality tole craftsmanship); original Made in Italy metal tag attached. In excellent condition with sound structural integrity; age appropriate patination to the gilt finish which enhances its charm and beauty. A fabulous head-turning piece that will complement a range of interior design styles such as transitional, Hollywood Regency, contemporary, industrial or postmodern.
