My dad was named Bob, and he loved cherry wood furniture. Mom loved the clean lines of Shaker and Danish furniture. In the late 1970s, my mom and dad were in a position to replace the old furniture from their early years of raising kids when I left home for college. They happily joined their loves and bought cherry Shaker furniture from Thos Moser in 1980 and 1981. They added Ekornes loveseats and recliners in the 1980s, along with tables and seating from Shaker Workshops.
I inherited my parents' estate and quickly realized that, as much as I loved their furniture, and had the memories of going home and seeing how well they worked for them, the pieces do not fit my home nor my lifestyle. Mom took very good care of the things she loved: absolutely no glasses without coasters and weekly dusting with furniture oil. I want someone to take over the care of these beautiful pieces.
