They finally decided to treat themselves to new furniture when I graduated from college in 1980. This cupboard desk was one of the big ticket items they bought. I loved the drawers and cubbyholes behind the folding desk. They were always well-stocked with office supplies, stamps, envelopes, and odds and ends like keychains and magnifying glasses. Both my parents used the desk to write bills and letters or work on projects. When I came home, I often saw one of them sitting and working. Exceptionally well-designed, the desk folds up when not in use. There is plenty of storage and would look handsome in a study, library, or even a bedroom. Made by one of the original cabinet makers, Christian Becksvoort, it became an integral part of their house. As with any piece of well-loved vintage furniture, there are some scratches. I envisioned using the desk to hold crafting supplies, but my current home is too small. See less
