They chose this piece to … Read more In 1982, my parents were smitten with Thos Moser Shaker furniture made of cherry wood. They chose this piece to hold Mom's classical music, books on classical music, and her rosin, metronome, and other things she used with her cello. It is an eminently practical piece, with solid wood drawer fasteners and adjustable shelves. The clean lines of Moser's Shaker furniture look particularly good with mid-century modern and traditional interiors. This piece was made by Robert Newton, one of the original cabinet makers featured on their website.

When my mother died, we cleaned out her music and her books, and used it to store office supplies and books. I continued to oil it, and Dad still loved to see the rich reddish color the cherry had settled into over the past 45 years. My parents cherished this piece, and I have many fond memories of listening to mom practice with the cupboard next to her. When I inherited it this year, I wanted to make it work, but, alas. I live in a smallish home and it simply does not work for me. See less
