Because the lid has a small hole, this is most likely a lidded soup bowl from an unmarked and unlabeled 1970s Otagiri stoneware dinnerware set known as pattern "No OTA 43". That said, on its own it makes a lovely trinket or jewelry bowl and is a stellar example of mid 20th Century Japanese pottery.
Done in creamy oatmeal with brown speckles, it appears that the indigo and brown were applied using a bamboo sushi roller or mat as a stencil or frisket to create the textured pattern.
The bowl measures 5 7/8" in diameter (its mouth is 4 5/8" in diameter), 2" in height, and with its 1 1/2" high lid, it is 3 1/4" in height.
