Period correct needlepoint … Read more Really nice Victorian Eastlake chair with very nice scrolling and carved features. The legs are nicely elaborate. Period correct needlepoint on the seat and back and old velvet on the back of the chair. There is trim and tack finish around the front, back and seat. The seat seems to have no cushioning; in other words, it is flat and hard, no padding. That said, it is sits nicely! So I can't quite figure out whether this needlepoint is original or not. If you look at the trim it looks like it is all original but that would mean it never had cushioning, which doesn't make sense. Note the bottom has old wood. This chair is all clean and sturdy and ready to serve as a lovely functional accent chair. The brown needlepoint background makes a nice neutral color and is in excellent condition. The seat width listed below is at the narrowest place, where the side supports are. The seat is 18" at the back and 22 1/2" at the front. See less
