This is the most magnificent chair we have ever had. It was purchased in 1974 for $750 by an artist in Los Angeles. They kept the original add from which they purchased it. The add reads, "Connecticut cherry Chippendale chair. Repaired and shows much wear but in original condition, no refinished, inscribed as follows "This chair was one of ? belonging to Katherine, daughter Rev. Timothy Pitkin of Farmington. Married in 1773 to Rev. Nathan Perkins of West Harftford." But the fabulous history of this furniture marvel does not stop there. They kept the original ticket which shows that they had it shipped directly to a professional finisher in Los Angeles to give it the sassiest, most bold, and quintessential 1970's make over EVER! This authentic Chippendale chair was refinished with a totally 70's bee hive lime green fabric on the seat and bright, high gloss orange finish on the wood. The chair has the classic broad seated from, cherry wood, and intricate toked-shaped curves on the back that you would want from a Chippendale chair...with the twist of an authentic and professional 1970's makeover....what a show stopper!
