An original Art Deco illustration hand-painted with ink and gouache on paper. The drawing features two elegant women with large windows and drapery in the background. This illustration was probably made for a fashion show program or a magazine. It has the signature of J. Hilly in the bottom right corner.
J. Hilly (20th century) was a French painter, decorator, and illustrator, who regularly contributed to the magazine Le Gout du Jour and La Gazette du Bon Ton. He is known for his uniquely elegant style with Art Deco emphasis on decors, costumes, and program covers for the French Music Hall.
The drawing is adorned with a modern gilded wood frame with glass protection.
