This very interesting drawing is a caricature of Vladimir Lenin, leader of the Russian Revolution, created by the circle of the German artist George Grosz.
The revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin is depicted in profile, with his distinctive features such as his goatee and bald head.
This artwork, never before on the market, comes from an important European private collection
This not signed very nice artwork, is characterized by a strong, satirical graphic style typical of Grosz, who often used distortion to express social and political criticism.
The face is rendered in an ochre/yellow hue that contrasts with the dusty blue background. At the bottom is a stylised inscription.
George Grosz was a leading figure in the Berlin Dada movement and New Objectivity.
His works are known for their scathing satire of bourgeois society, militarism and the powerful figures of his time.
