This pattern, known as Cairo, … Read more For a festively elegant holiday table, consider this set of ten dinner plates by Coalport. This pattern, known as Cairo, features exotic birds and insects surrounded by foliage all rendered in gold with a hand-applied border that adds the perfect finishing touch. Six of these plates are ruby red and four of them are cobalt blue. All of the red plates are the same color even though they appear to be different shades of red in picture 1. I photographed these plates both with flash and without, but the ones with flash show the intensity of their color more accurately. Pictures 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 show the intensity of their color quite well. The back of each plate is stamped Coalport Bone China Made in England.

All ten of these plates are in remarkably fine condition without any chips, cracks or crazing and appear to have been well cared for over the years. These are proper dinner plates, measuring 10.5" in diameter. See less
