The chair is constructed of a solid, warm mahogany and features beautiful stylized floral carvings. The seat has been freshly reupholstered in a handblocked brick red and neutral fabric that echoes the carvings on the chair. The hoop back (curve) is constructed from 2 pieces that appear to have been secured with metal or wood plates and then 'painted' over so that it blends in with the wood. This may have been part of an earlier repair, but I don't know. The 'repair' is not noticeable from the front. Overall, the chair is in very good condition. It is solid and sturdy and has a bit of weight to it.

The chair measures 34.5" H
The width of the chair at it's widest point (across front of seat) is 17.5"
The width of the balloon back across the top is approx. 15.5" See less
