The sculpture features a solemn, contemplative face with closed eyes, elongated nose, and delicately defined lips, framed by deeply carved hair and a full beard rendered with strong linear texture.
Executed in wood with remnants of its original polychrome and painted surface, the finish displays beautiful age-related wear, revealing layers of pigment and gesso that enhance the spiritual intensity and authenticity of the piece. The back retains visible tool marks and carving striations, further emphasizing its hand-crafted origin.
