A deep … Read more A Saint Clément French Faïence, a majolica glazed plate showing overlapping asparagus spears, leaves and globe artichoke heads. A deep sauce well is also formed as an artichoke head. Glazed in lavender, and various shades of greens on a cream ground.

The faience factory of Saint-Clement, located 12 kms from Lunéville, was established in 1758 by Jacques Chambrette. The factory was awarded the label as Royal Supplier for Marie-Antoinette’s Trianon. In 1892, the factory was sold to Keller and Guérin, who already owned the earthenware factory of Lunéville.

Multiple plates are available, each with varying intensity of color due to being glazed by hand.
In very good condition with the expected light wear to the rims. See less
