Very rare, discontinued 2007, Fornasetti style, highly collectible "15 Perpetual Hands " Sculptural Art Bowl.
Inspired or copied by Jonathan Adler, this incredibly fabulous, impossible to find work of whimsical pop art is part of the highly sought after TMS Vitruvian Collection
Spectacularly dramatic large bowl adorned with very defined hands and fingers, that overtop the rim.
Piece is substantial and very heavy. Large scale work is the perfect focal centerpiece for a coffee or dining room table. The bottom of the interior is inscribed with the words, “A Very Handy Bowl Indeed”
The piece is made of an off-white ceramic/resin composite which looks, feels and is weighty like smooth stone or solid plaster.
I have used this piece to display colorful Christmas ball ornaments of various Mediterranean colors and textures as well as Blenko blown glass balls. The piece is a stunning minimalist work of art.
It is striking displayed on its own, as well as used as a vessel for seasonal ornaments, stones and natural foliage. This eye catching, delightful discontinued, vessel is rarely offered in the marketplace.
The collection, consisting of 20 or so sculptural art pieces, all released in very limited quantities and each design available for only a few months.
The entire collection began in 2004 and was discontinued in 2009
They are highly collectible int the USA and internationally, and have fetched impressive prices at auction.
The perpetual designs; faces, lips, breasts, fingers and THIS, the bowl of perpetual hands are the most desired pieces
The entire collection began in 2004 and was discontinued in 2009 and rarely come to market, and when they do, often have condition issues.
My Vitruvian collection was purchased at release of each piece and kept in an enclosed glass display case, air tight, never handled My preference has been the off white pieces
There is a patina that is part of the design. It is not dirt or discoloration. The pieces are off white The darker patina shadows the intricate detailing giving the piece more depth visually.
Made from a stone resin compound, most pieces are engraved with a Shakespearean quote on the bottom and dated.
This piece was created AND discontinued in 2007
All pieces have a whimsical sense of humor about them. Many were closely reimagined by Jonathan Adler and other artists
