Enhance your collection or table setting with this charming, vintage set of four (4) porcelain dinner plates from the iconic Design Naif collection by Villeroy & Boch. Each plate features a distinct, vibrant scene beautifully illustrated by the celebrated French folk artist Gérard Laplau. Known for their whimsical, narrative style, these plates brilliantly capture the warmth, simplicity, and nostalgic beauty of pastoral village and farm life.
The set includes four unique artistic narratives, each bordered by Villeroy & Boch's classic crisp black accent trim lines:
• The Cozy Hearth: A warm indoor scene capturing an evening by a brick fireplace, featuring figures relaxing in chairs accompanied by playful cats and a dog.
• The Hunter & His Dog: A scenic landscape depicting rolling green hills, stylized trees, a country farmhouse, and a hunter walking his faithful dog along a path.
• The Bustling Village Square: A lively town square vignette filled with charming village shops, historic architecture, and local residents going about their day.
• Pastoral Farmyard Life: A bright country farm scene showing daily chores, chickens feeding around a haystack, and classic barnyard buildings under a blue sky.
Crafted from premium Villeroy & Boch porcelain, these highly collectible pieces are as versatile as they are beautiful. They make exceptional serving or dinner plates, but are equally suited for spectacular display nestled on tabletop plate stands, styled along a hutch, or arranged creatively as a folk-art wall gallery.

The reverse of each plate bears the authentic Villeroy & Boch / Luxembourg backstamp reading "Depuis 1748 / Ancienne Manufacture Impériale et Royale / Design Naif / Vitro-Porcelaine", along with its dishwasher-safe guarantee notation. The rims/background are bright white.
The Villeroy & Boch "Design Naif" collection was first introduced in 1983. Based on the specific backstamp of the photos (Ancienne Manufacture Impériale et Royale Luxembourg), the set dates from around the mid-1980s to the 1990s. While the pattern is so beloved that variations are still produced today, vintage pieces specifically manufactured at the historic Luxembourg facility carry a higher degree of collectible appeal among antique enthusiasts.
