This vintage curved bar has a broad, crescent-shaped silhouette, with a gently bowed front that sweeps outward to pointed, tapered ends and a smooth, overhanging counter. The facade is wrapped in dozens of slender, vertically aligned bamboo poles, set side by side to create a rhythmic, fluted texture that reads almost like architectural reeding. The poles glow in warm tones of honey, tobacco, and walnut, with darker streaks and subtle fading that speak to decades of sun and use. Each pole is neatly pinned at the top and base, and the natural nodes and grain add organic variation across the curve. The counter is a rounded-edge wood top in a weathered oak-brown finish, its grain softened by age and gentle wear. Below, a deep mahogany-toned wood plinth follows the curve of the bar and carries a sweeping brass footrail, supported by sculpted wooden brackets whose flared feet give the base a lightly Polynesian, Tiki-era flavor. The brass has mellowed to a soft, golden patina that contrasts handsomely with the dark red-brown wood. The overall effect is sculptural, tactile, and unmistakably mid-century, with the relaxed glamour of a Palm Beach cocktail lounge.
Place this bar in a living room, sunroom, basement lounge, or game room, or along a lanai or covered patio, where it anchors Mid-Century Modern, Tiki, Coastal, Bohemian, and Hollywood Regency interiors. Pair it with a set of tall rattan stools for an instant entertaining zone. Dust the bamboo with a soft brush, wipe the wood with a lightly damp cloth and dry immediately, and polish the brass gently with a soft cloth. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun and standing moisture. The bar measures 73 inches (1854 mm) wide, 32 inches (813 mm) deep, and 42.25 inches (1073 mm) high. It is in good condition, with age-appropriate patina, some fading, and minor scuffs and surface wear. Bring home the cocktail hour today.
