A beautiful antique pewter repousse platter embellished with flowers and fruits, thought to be of German origin. Along the outer band at the top is J Fz Loche (Joseph Franz Loche) with tulips engraved on either side; at the bottom is 1783. The date on the platter indicates it was likely a presentation or marriage plate. The platter is an impressive size at 15.5" diameter x 2" high. The pronounced repousse work includes grapes, leaves, apples, strawberries, pomegranates and cherries. Around the perimeter of the repousse are incised circles and scallops.
