This George Jones majolica bowl has a compact, rounded silhouette with a softly irregular, naturalistic rim, raised on three sculptural feet modeled as gnarled tree roots. The exterior is molded to mimic rough bark, its stippled, pebbled surface glazed in mottled chocolate and olive brown with flecks of ochre that give the ground a convincing organic texture. Across this backdrop, a cluster of pink and lavender blossoms, each centered with a tiny golden stamen, stands in crisp relief, framed by broad, sharply veined maple-style leaves in saturated emerald and jade. Slender stems twist around the body and trail down into the feet, tying the floral decoration to the woodland base. A fine ochre line traces the rim, and the interior is washed in a luminous turquoise glaze that pools and shimmers, creating a vivid contrast with the earthy exterior. The glaze is glossy and richly layered, with the depth of color and hand-finished modeling that make Victorian majolica so prized. Every petal, leaf, and bark ridge feels deliberately sculpted, giving this small bowl the presence of a miniature garden vignette.
Place this bowl on a vanity, sideboard, or bedside table as a ring dish or trinket holder, or use it on a dining table for nuts, mints, or a small posy of flowers. It complements Victorian, English Country, Cottagecore, Eclectic, and Maximalist interiors. Clean gently with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, avoid dishwashers and sudden temperature changes, and dry thoroughly. The bowl measures 3.75 inches (95 mm) wide, 3.75 inches (95 mm) deep, and 2.5 inches (64 mm) high. It is in very good condition, with a lustrous glaze and no visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
