This vintage pair of lounge chairs is built from honey-toned rattan poles bent into low, boxy frames with softly rounded corners and arched, open arm supports. The back and sides are filled with an airy diamond lattice of slender canes, each crossing secured by a neat wrap of dark burgundy binding. The wrapping gives the pair its signature detail, adding a rhythmic dotted accent against the pale golden poles at the joints, corners, and stretchers. Double-pole rails run along the seat and base, and looped, racetrack-shaped lower stretchers add a gentle curve to the otherwise rectilinear silhouette. The seat is formed from evenly spaced, darker slats that provide firm support for a loose cushion, which is not included. The finish is a warm, glowing amber with soft tonal variation across the poles, natural nodes, and a mellow, hand-rubbed sheen where years of use have burnished the surface. The open latticework keeps the form light and transparent despite the generous scale, and the two chairs are closely matched in construction, wrapping, and finish.
Place these chairs in a sunroom, lanai, living room, or bedroom sitting area, where they can face each other across a coffee table or flank a sofa. They complement Mid-Century Modern, Boho, Coastal, Hollywood Regency, and Tropical interiors, especially with bold floral cushions, glass, and lush greenery. To care for them, dust with a soft, dry cloth or a vacuum brush attachment, spot clean with a barely damp cloth, and avoid harsh chemicals, standing moisture, and prolonged direct sunlight to protect the rattan and its wrapped joints. Each chair measures approximately 36 inches (914 mm) wide, 27.75 inches (705 mm) deep, and 36.25 inches (921 mm) high, with a seat height of 10 inches (254 mm). Offered in very good vintage condition, the pair has its original finish with a warm patina, minor scuffs and slight wear on the lower frame, and is structurally sound with no visible repairs or significant damage.
