This vintage pair of twin headboards is built entirely from honey-toned rattan poles, grouped in tight parallel bundles to form a crisp, rectilinear frame with a strong architectural presence. Each upright is composed of several slender canes laid side by side, and at the top corners the bundles meet in neatly mitered, fan-shaped wrapped joints. These wrapped corners are the signature detail of the design, with fine strands of cane bound diagonally to create a radiating, origami-like pattern. Set within the frame is a square center panel of closely spaced vertical rods, outlined by a slim rattan border, which adds a ribbed, rhythmic texture against the open spaces on either side. A multi-pole horizontal rail below the panel anchors the composition, and the legs extend straight down so the headboards can mount to a standard bed frame. The finish is a bright, glowing golden amber with soft tonal variation from pale straw to warm honey, and natural nodes and fine surface markings add organic character. The two headboards are closely matched in scale, pattern, and finish, with clean lines that feel both tailored and airy.
Use these headboards to dress a pair of twin beds in a guest room, children’s room, or sunroom, or pair them with a daybed for a graphic, layered look. They complement Mid-Century Modern, Boho, Coastal, Organic Modern, and Hollywood Regency interiors, especially with crisp linen bedding, woven textures, and lush greenery. To care for them, dust with a soft, dry cloth or a vacuum brush attachment, spot clean with a barely damp cloth, and avoid harsh chemicals, standing moisture, and prolonged direct sunlight to protect the rattan and its wrapped joints. Each headboard measures approximately 39.25 inches (997 mm) wide, 1.25 inches (32 mm) deep, and 47 inches (1194 mm) high. Offered in very good vintage condition, the pair has its original finish with a warm, even patina, light scuffs and minor wear on the lower legs, and is structurally sound with no visible repairs or significant damage.
