A distinctive vintage British Colonial-style four-drawer chest, believed to date to the later 20th century, featuring a handsome luggage-inspired design with richly textured woven rattan panels framed in warm-toned wood.
The chest is beautifully detailed with genuine leather drawer straps embossed with a Greek key pattern, rich burnished brass corner protectors, decorative rivets, and rounded bun feet. These carefully considered details evoke the character of vintage travel trunks and classic campaign furniture.
Four generously sized drawers provide ample storage, making this an attractive and functional piece for a bedroom, living room, or entryway. The combination of woven texture, leather, wood, and brass lends the chest a distinctive British Colonial character with timeless appeal.
The design bears a striking resemblance to luggage-inspired furniture associated with Maitland-Smith, although no maker's mark or label has been found.
