Vintage Irish Chippendale Style Carved Ribbon & Tassel Dining Chairs in Distressed Ivory – Set of 6
Chairish listing
Description
A striking set of six Irish Chippendale Revival dining chairs featuring exceptionally decorative carved and pierced backs inspired by 18th-century Georgian furniture.
Each chair displays an elaborate central ribbon-and-bow motif surrounded by flowing acanthus scrollwork, carved tassels and architectural detailing. The frames are finished in a softly distressed ivory/cream paint that highlights the depth of the carving and gives the set a sophisticated collected appearance.
The generously padded seats are upholstered in a fresh pale green woven textile with a subtle cream dot pattern and finished with antique-brass-tone nailhead trim. Straight carved front legs, decorative pierced corner brackets and shaped feet complete the design.
The chairs combine traditional Irish Chippendale ornament with the lighter decorative palette associated with late-20th-century designer interiors, making them equally suitable for traditional, Georgian, English country, Palm Beach, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic dining rooms.
