Beautiful and large antique octagonal wall clock, richly decorated in the Napoleon III style.
The circular alabaster dial is adorned with blue enamel Roman numerals, black metal hands, and bears the inscription "Royer a Neufchâteau." It is framed by a substantial polychrome decoration of floral and foliate motifs.
The case features abundant decoration in Venetian glass engraved with foliage and arabesques, embellished with beaded borders and cobalt blue elements. The upper section is surmounted by a large finial, while the lower section terminates in a console-shaped ornamental motif.
Inside, it contains a Swiss music box with four tunes, coupled to the clock.
A particularly decorative piece, reflecting the taste for ornate objects of the 19th century.
There is some damage to one of the glass flowers.
We have not had it serviced by a clockmaker.
