The oval upholstered backs are framed by finely carved moldings, while the gracefully shaped arms terminate in richly detailed carved foliate scrolls. Particularly noteworthy are the elaborate carvings along the arm supports, seat rails and tapered legs, showcasing the refined craftsmanship of French cabinetmakers.
