The frame is newly painted in oil rubbed bronze and hand gilded in a parcel gilt finish called Fractured Gilt. The gold leaf is laid in rough, broken passes so the bronze shows through, then fly speckled and edged with a clean gold lip around the glass. The look is Palm Beach and Hollywood Regency, in the style of Dorothy Draper and Tony Duquette, and it pairs naturally with Chinoiserie, gilded bamboo, and black lacquer. It would look great in an entry or a powder room, or hung over a console.
It measures 44.25 inches tall, 24.5 inches wide, and 1.75 inches deep, with a composite frame. The finish is fully cured and sealed, and the worn gold is on purpose. The glass is original.
