Each chair has a curved yoke crest rail, a flat splat set with a carved roundel in lighter wood, and a dark woven seat held in a wooden frame. The black painted finish has worn softly at the edges and on the seat rails, showing the wood beneath. Folding chairs of this form were made in China and across East Asia as portable seating.

Each chair is 23 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 40 inches tall, with a seat height of 22 inches. Use the pair at the ends of a console, beside a fireplace or in an entry, where the slim X-frame keeps the floor visible. Their height suits accent seating more than a standard dining table, and the crest rail gives a plain wall a graphic line.
