This attractive chair has a high back … Read more A handsome mid-19th century English Windsor chair built from solid elm and ash. This attractive chair has a high back with five spindles for support beneath the crest rail. The back is framed by posts that have been turned with reed and bead shapes. A molded seat, made from a single plank, is enclosed by gently curved arms. Turned detailing on the supports for the arms and the chair's legs match the shapes of the back posts. Across the surface of this chair, we see stunning woodgrains met with a nice patina, reminding us of how much it has been used and loved over time. Gently cleaned and tightened with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
