A lovely pair of 19th-century English side chairs made from yew and elm wood. The soft S-curve backs have two supports. The upper support is smooth and flat while the lower one is turned with a rope-twist pattern. Each chair's seat is carved of a single plank and molded for maximum comfort, showcasing stunning woodgrains. Across their surfaces, we see beautiful patinations, reminders of how much these chairs have been used and loved over time. Their slender legs are turned with rings and undulating forms. These chairs are lightweight, yet sturdy, and they would be a wonderful addition to any home. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions.
