For over two generations, Ibiscus Keramik located in Rhodes Greece, has been handcrafting whimsical decorative earthenware plates influenced by the look-and-feel of Old-World Portuguese and Spanish Talavera. Rhodes is the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands and their historical capital, as well as the ninth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.

The enchanting folk art galloping reindeer set in the center of this decorative plate is surrounded by a timeless vine pattern on the plate’s 24-karat gold perimeter. Within the plate’s interior, you’ll find a fanciful medley of hand painted bas-relief flowers such as narcissus, chrysanthemums, carnations and poppies surrounding the reindeer in vibrant eye-catching colors. This beauty measures 10½” x 10½” x 1” W/D/H; weight 1 lb. 5 oz.; handcrafted from highly glazed earthenware. In excellent condition with minimal, if any, age-appropriate wear. As with anything handcrafted and hand painted, pottery marks and color variances are inherent and add to the charm and uniqueness of this beauty. Makers mark on the underside. There is a single hole on the back rim which will allow you to hang, if you wish. Note, the lucite plate stand is not included.

For a collector of eclectic decorative earthenware plates, this colorful beauty will complement most any design style and should be a must have or the perfect gift for someone who is.
