The chair has an especially expressive silhouette. Large open scroll arms sweep forward from the back before curling inward above the front supports, creating a strong Classical profile. The broad upper tablet is crowned by a carved crest of repeating foliate decoration terminating in floral rosettes at either end.

A substantial vase-shaped splat occupies the center of the open back, while long curved outer supports connect the upper tablet to the seat. The combination of open space, broad shaped elements, and carved ornament gives the chair considerable visual presence from every angle.

The generously padded seat is upholstered in a cream needlepoint textile centered with a bouquet of pink roses, purple blossoms, and green foliage. A bowed front seat rail follows the rounded profile of the cushion.

Long wood rockers complete the frame and emphasize the chair’s sweeping lines.

A handsome statement rocker for a bedroom, library, living room, nursery, or collected traditional interior.
