A pair of Eastlake period, American made, balloon back chairs. Petite frames are made of cherrywood, with balloon shaped backs pierced at the crest rails carved with berries and foliage. Serpentine cross supports are carved with a simple Eastlake motif. Tight seats with serpentine fronts are upholstered in a gold embossed jacquard, finished with a braided gimp. Restrained cabriole legs finish in elongated cuffed feet. Label underneath reads “J. Erhard Johnson, Inc. Upholstering, Interior Decorating. Furniture Made to Order and Refinished”. Dimensions per chair.
