The four-sided lantern features an elaborate openwork construction composed of repeating hexagonal motifs, framed by richly modeled scrolling ornaments. Its design combines Hollywood Regency elegance with Neo-Baroque and subtle Moorish influences. The interplay between the geometric lattice and the expressive ornamental borders gives the light an exceptionally sculptural appearance. When illuminated, the open brass framework projects an atmospheric pattern of light and shadow onto the surrounding walls and ceiling. Although the lantern may originally have been fitted with glass panels, these are no longer present. The open construction does not detract from its appearance; instead, it emphasizes the decorative metalwork and produces a particularly striking lighting effect. The lantern retains its brass chain and ornamented ceiling canopy. Its naturally developed patina, minor oxidation, surface wear and small age-related irregularities are consistent with its vintage character and contribute to its authentic appearance.

The light is fitted with one European E14 socket. An E14-to-E12 screw-in socket reducer for use with American E12 bulbs is included in the delivery.
