A vintage Seth Thomas Corsair model E537-010 ship's clock and barometer set, dating to circa 1968. This nautical desk set features two instruments housed in heavy, polished brass cases and mounted on a solid mahogany wood base. The clock dial is marked 'Seth Thomas' and features a 12-hour track with an inner 24-hour track. The bottom of the dial is marked 'GERMAN MOVT'. The matching weather barometer is also signed 'Seth Thomas' and indicates atmospheric pressure changes with 'RAIN', 'CHANGE', and 'FAIR' markers. The barometer movement is marked 'MADE IN U.S.A.' and 'MANUF. BY TAYLOR INST. CO.' A winding key is included.
