This refined Chinese Export porcelain dessert service was produced for the Western market, likely in the late 18th to early 19th century, circa 1790–1820. The group centers on a reticulated pierced bowl or fruit basket with matching underplate, accompanied by shaped corner dishes arranged to form a formal dessert or sweetmeat setting. Comparable Chinese Export services of this period often included specialized reticulated baskets, stands, and shaped serving dishes for fruit, sweetmeats, and table display, as seen in documented late 18th and early 19th century export services.

The decoration is hand-painted in overglaze enamel and gilt, with grape clusters, vine leaves, and scrolling tendrils reserved against a white porcelain ground. The pierced basket is especially notable for its latticework body and gilt-highlighted rim, combining ornamental delicacy with a highly specialized serving function. The corner dishes echo the same grapevine border and curved geometric form, allowing the set to be arranged around the central basket as a coordinated table centerpiece.
