A place to unwind after a long trip.

Vintage 1970s Stiffel brass floor lamp with an integrated square beveled glass table, clipped corners, twin brass gallery rails, and a substantial stepped octagonal brass base. An unusually handsome example of Stiffel's combination floor lamp and table design, it provides both reading light and a generous surface for a book, drink, or small decorative object.

The glass tabletop is particularly well designed, with angled corners and a pair of raised brass galleries along the back edges. The galleries give the table a more refined, furniture-like appearance than the simpler round glass tables commonly found on Stiffel floor lamps.

The tall brass column rises from a weighted, stepped octagonal base and retains the Stiffel label. Its combination of warm brass, clear glass, and restrained classical detailing works especially well beside a reading chair or chaise, where it eliminates the need for a separate floor lamp and side table.

This is exactly the sort of piece I like beside a reading chair. You have a proper lamp and a place for your book or cup of tea without crowding the corner with another table. I especially like the brass galleries on this one—they're a small detail, but they make the lamp feel much more finished and substantial than the usual lamp-and-table combination.
