Sligh Furniture Regency Revival executive writing desk, dating to the mid-20th century, crafted in richly figured walnut with a beautifully patinated, tooled black leather writing surface.
The rectangular top is framed by a broad figured-walnut border and detailed with a gilt-tooled decorative perimeter surrounding the inset leather writing surface. The desk features three drawers across the front, including a pair of larger drawers flanking a central bank of two smaller drawers, all fitted with distinctive silver-tone oval ring pulls suspended from floral rosette mounts.
The case is raised on four tapered square legs with molded accent bands, while the sides and reverse are paneled and finished, giving the desk a handsome appearance from all angles. Fine traditional detailing, figured veneers and restrained Regency-inspired proportions give this piece a sophisticated executive presence.
