The tall architectural backs feature shaped pediments outlined with delicate linear inlay, flanked by tapering uprights embellished with inlaid floral medallions and bronze foliate mounts at the crests. Additional geometric inlay continues down the back posts and across the lower rails. The seat aprons are particularly finely detailed, with contrasting linear banding, geometric marquetry and inset floral rosettes, all set against the warm figured walnut. Beautifully curved front legs give the chairs an elegant sculptural profile and are further enriched with ornate bronze mounts extending along the feet and lower legs. The original pale beige cut velvet upholstery covers both the backs and generously proportioned seats, finished with closely spaced individual brass tacks that beautifully frame the textile.
