A striking, highly collectible 1930s Art Deco tea and coffee service manufactured by the renowned Porzellanfabrik Victoria AG (formerly Schmidt & Co.) in Altrohlau, Bohemia, Czechoslovakia (now Stará Role, Czech Republic). Capturing the peak era of European interwar glamor, this partial service showcases an exceptional contrast of avant-garde geometry and high-vibrancy iridescent glazes.
The exterior of each piece features a breathtaking, pearlescent powder-blue lusterware finish that catches and reflects ambient light with an opalescent shimmer. The interiors are treated with a rich, metallic peach-to-gold iridescent glaze, a trademark technique of interwar Bohemian porcelain houses. Adding sharp geometric definition, the set is punctuated by architectural, stark glossy black scroll handles, matching black rims, and a stylized stepped black finial crowning the sugar bowl lid. The teacup and matching saucer boast beautiful panel-ribbed, multi-sided fluting that adds substantial dimension and depth.
The undersides bear the authentic, underglaze green factory mark featuring an open crown above "VICTORIA" and arched "Czechoslovakia" underneath—a backstamp configuration introduced in 1930 and used until the factory's postwar nationalization in 1945. Hand-gilded gilder or internal pattern numeric notations (5 / 1) are also visible
