You get the full theatrical scale Dorothy Draper made popular, without the fragility of period carving.

I refinished it in my atelier in a Gustavian-inspired palette of linen white over a muted, dusty light blue. The high points are hand distressed so the warm gold underlayer breaks through the tips of the carving. Hand-applied fly speckling and an archival dark wax settle into the recesses, which is what gives the shadow lines their depth in person.

Rococo bones, Swedish color, and a finish you will not find on another example of this mirror. In a grandmillennial or maximalist room, it does the work of three smaller pieces. Hang it against a saturated wall color.
