Amazing piece for your interior design aesthetic, you will not find another one!!
Antique, circa 1800's, carved oak Green Man or Northwind Face rocking chair with tufted cherry red leather. Really great exaggerated carved beard that pierces through the solid oak wood. Definitely is something I have not seen before when buying Green Man chairs in the past!
Currently this chair is solid, sturdy, and completely functional. Even though this chair a couple shows visible older repairs throughout (see photos), it was sitting/rocking just fine with me in it, and I weigh 195lbs.
The repairs are well done, and the chair feels solid for its age.
Other very minor age related wear may have the slight possibly be found throughout.
The seat sits perfectly without sinking in, and the chair was rocking smoothly.
Chair measures roughly 26" wide arm to arm, 33" deep (measured from back/front of rocker runner), 36.5" tall. 16.5" tall to the top of the seat ... 23.5" tall to the top of the arms.
